In short, today’s post on Loewe basically translates into how much I am still loving the Fall-Winter 2011 Womens Loewe collection. And while you still read up on leading fashion sites and blogs on how they felt on the runway apparel (that’s not something I generally cover, or would have an opinion on anyway), I must say this. I’m still loving most (if not all) of the F/W11 bags from Loewe.
Maybe it was the designs, maybe it was the colour palette, or even the ample use of lush nappa, sublime suede and luxurious exotics, but one thing is for sure. If you were quite mortified with everything from S/S11 (a little honesty never hurt anyone), you won’t be for F/W11.
From dainty shoulder bags to boxy handbags and even a gorgeous little croc-trimmed suede trunk just for your makeup when you travel, the F/W11 collection has pieces that besides being editorial-worthy, will be finding their way into bag closets of adoring fans worldwide.
Something new I learnt today. Loosely translated, the costureras is to the Spanish what the atelier is to the French. And have a look and see what goes on behind the scenes as seamstresses bring Stuart’s designs to life in the workshop.
Here’s a video of the goings-on backstage (did I mention I was there myself in Paris when all this was happening?). Watch closely and you’ll spot some of the luscious new bags for F/W11.
In other Loewe news, the Loewe + Katie Hillier collection is still available online at Colette, Loewe just opened a new boutique at London’s Mount Street, and last but not least, Loewe will be presenting their F/W11 runway presentation in Madrid on 30 March 2011, the first time in 14 years. And if you like, you can watch it online (just follow the link and sign up for updates).
