Yesterday marked my very first Paris Fashion Week show, and first up on my list was the Fall-Winter 2011 Womens Dior runway presentation, which instantly became the most talked about show for PFW with the removal of John Galliano.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that he is no longer with Dior. So while on one hand I was supposed to be all excited that I finally made it to my first PFW show, it was also tinged with sadness, knowing I witnessed the last collection by Mr Galliano.
Despite reports saying press and buyers would boycott the event initially, there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. Security was also tight; we had to jostle at the gates for quite a while before being let in.
My snapshots weren’t that great either since I obviously wasn’t prepared for the army of photographers and their giant flash bulbs that basically washed out all my shots. Still, I would like to think that I enjoyed myself, given the experience of it all.
And as far as the F/W11 bags were concerned, I did spot a new design which I’ll be covering soon in another post. Au revoir, for now.

Galliano was already in a thin thread with Dior, so this was Diors final way for the firing of the designer. He wont be back, that is for sure!!
Awesome to get on the pulse of your trip over there! And lucky you for being able to see Galliano’s last glory. What a terrible mistake he made. Totally unpleasant. Farewell the flamboyant Galliano.
I got teary eye when I heard this news. Sad sad sad… I hope John Galliano could come back with Dior
