If you love Globe-Trotter, you’ll love SteamLine Luggage, a luggage manufacturer that’s based in Dublin, Ireland. I was first alerted to this brand by a reader on Facebook who read my previous post on Globe-Trotter and recommended this brand instead, one that was more affordable and equally hard-wearing.
Curious, I checked out their online site and boy was I impressed. Besides being truly affordable, SteamLine Luggage has different collections you can choose from, be it the stylish Aviator collection, or the brightly coloured Editor series. I had to buy something and check it out for myself so I picked something from the Explorer collection (bine-woven case with leather straps), the 58 cm by 36 cm SteamLine Luggage Explorer Stowaway, which retails for USD328. And because they are now 40% off, I only paid USD262.40 (around SGD340), which wasn’t that bad a deal in the end.
Head on over if you’re looking for a piece of luggage as well; the sale will be on whilst stocks last. A word of caution, though. They are made in China, and while the workmanship is not super fine, you are getting what you pay for and I think it does superbly well for a piece of luggage in this price range.
Today’s post, however, is not entirely about my new toy, but also about the new collections that will be made available online, including the fine-looking SteamLine Luggage Diplomat Stowaway (shown above), made of recycled leather and coming with TSA approved locks. The handsome stud will also be available in Brown (with white leather trim) or Cream (with tan leather trim). Retailing for USD520 for the Stowaway and USD495 for the smaller CarryOn, shipping will be free for all international orders once they are officially launched online.
