Shot by Mario Testino (with British models Cara Delevingne and Jacob Young), here’s a first look at the new Spring-Summer 2011 Burberry ad campaign shot on Brighton beach. My advice? Best you enjoy the campaign images now, because they will be changed every single month for S/S11.
That’s because starting this year, Burberry will have 5 different ad campaigns for each season, which is mind-blowing because traditionally, brands usually only focus on two main campaigns a year. Each month will focus on different collections, including Burberry Prorsum, Burberry London, Burberry Brit and Burberry accessories, all of which can be explored online at Burberry with multi-faceted content experiences.
Then again, with a brand like Burberry, who has led the way with their innovative social media initiatives online, it’s not really suprising that now they’re trying something new with traditional print media. And like their online initiatives where constant renewal and fresh content is key, maybe Christopher Bailey is trying to use that formula on traditional print media too.
Just imagine this, every issue of Vogue (or Harper’s Bazaar for that matter) will have a different ad campaign every single month. Now that’s keeping it fresh.
And that’s not all. Follow the link and you’ll find that Singapore now has her own online Burberry store, which is truly exciting. Now excuse me while I go check out its gorgeous new layout.
