First there was the Bayswater, then the East West Bayswater. This year, Mulberry is launching the Bayswater Satchel, which will definitely find favour with fans and new converts alike. As for me, I’ve got my eyes set on one bag and one bag alone, and that’s the Mulberry Shrunken Bayswater. Measuring just 11 cm by 11 cm (ok fine, you can’t technically refer to it as an actual bag), it is truly the smallest, cutest, most adorable thing to come out of Mulberry yet.
I repeat. It is truly the smallest, cutest and most adorable thing to come out of Mulberry yet.
Besides coming out in Reverse Glitter Leopard (just a fancy way of referring to leather that’s treated to look like leopard print), there is another in Gold Diamond Sparkle, both of which will look great hanging off your larger bag.
If the Bayswater is not your thing, then check out the Mulberry Shrunken Lily, available in both Reverse Glitter Leopard (shown above), and Gold Diamond Sparkle. Measuring 11 cm by 11 cm, you can undo the D-ring attachment to loop this little darling around your larger bag’s handle.
Last but not least, the Mulberry Shrunken Alexa, which measures (you guessed it) 11 cm by 11 cm as well. Besides being available in Reverse Metallic Leopard, it will also come in Oak Soft Buffalo, which was the very first colour/material that the first Alexa was ever released in. If anything, I’m so getting that one to keep as a collector’s item.
More bag charm than bag, they are, however, truly functional. You can actually open the clasps (while sitting them in the palm of your hand) and fill them up with loose change, a stick of lip gloss and err, lint? But that’s not the point, because they are truly the smallest, cutest and most adorable thing to come out of Mulberry yet.
All three designs will retail for GBP153 each, in Singapore they will be priced at SGD360 a pop, and they will be released online and in Singapore come February 2010. Just in time for my birthday too.
