The 90s are officially back with the launch of the Furla Candy Bag collection, a special line created for S/S11. Simply called the Candy Bag (and for obvious reasons too), each is more brightly-hued and colourful than the next.
Made up of specially-commissioned PVC (the bags are 100% manufactured in Italy), each bag is hand-stitched and finished with a metal lock which you can use along with the bag as a charm, or separately as a keychain. Available in 5 ‘solid’ colours including Green and Fuchsia (shown above), as well as Blue, Orange and Yellow, they should be sized between a Speedy25 and a Speedy30.
Besides the ones in ‘solid’ hues, there will be 2 more with semi-transperent bodies, in Black (shown above) and Fuschia shown below). There is also another variation that is totally transparent, but that’s a tad too much even for me.
The entire collection will be released in Singapore on 1 March 2011, and my best advice is for you to head on down to any boutique on the island and get yourself on the wait list. Priced at SGD450 each, the price isn’t too bad for a fun bag (I see beach picnics and informal family gatherings) like this.
And if you’re asking me, my personal pick would be the ones in the ‘solid’ hues, especially the one in Green, which is looking to be a key colour for S/S11 as well.

Hi, do you happen to know if the candy bags are still available in Singapore boutiques? Thank you.
Not the S/S11 ones, but the new F/W11 ones are. In deeper, darker hues.
I saw the new colours in-store today. Deep colours. The bright ones from S/S season are nicer I think.
