Having ignored most of the Louis Vuitton stores whilst in Tokyo (it is more expensive in Japan so there wasn’t really a point shopping there), I completely forgot that I was supposed to be on the lookout for the Louis Vuitton Hotel Labels Postcards Box, a recently launched set of 30 postcards that was part of Gaston-Louis’ (the grandson of Louis Vuitton) 3000 labels he amassed whilst travelling overseas.
And one of the postcards actually depict Adelphi Hotel, established in Singapore in 1863 and demolished in 1973, and is the same site where The Adelphi now stands.
Presented in a lovely box (shown above), along with a slim booklet explaining the premise of this collection, it would go perfectly with the hardcover tome that’s due out any time soon, Louis Vuitton: 100 Legendary Trunks.
Retailing for SGD94, the postcards will definitely make a lovely gift for friends that like me, have been bitten by the travel bug. I picked up the only set available at Louis Vuitton Raffles Hotel Arcade just now; check out other stores at ION Orchard and Ngee Ann City if you’re keen.

It’s so fine! What will you be doing with it? Frame them up?
I also have a postcard of the Adelphi Hotel somewhere, different angle though.
Are you able to scan a copy of the Singapore postcard, and post it on your blog?
Hey Stef, you can see that postcard here. Just follow the link.

That’s great Ricardo!
It’s already sold out in US website… the 100 postcards from rueben toledo seems a bit overpriced.
