Truth be told, I swear by my Monogram Canvas Keepall45 whenever I travel. In fact, for my last 3 trips overseas (Tokyo, London and Taipei), I dutifully brought it along. Besides it being really roomy, I like the fact that the Keepall is one tough bag, and I have no issues stuffing it under the airplane’s seat or throwing it around; it will stand up (and has stood up so far) to whatever crap I’ve thrown at it.
Which is why lately I’ve been thinking of getting another Keepall for myself, either the one in Monogram Macassar, or something vintage in Epi from eBay. And now, I’ve got another one to contend with. Introducing the Louis Vuitton Damier Carbone Keepall45, the latest in travel bags from the French house.
Retailing for SGD2960 in Singapore (limited pieces are available at Ngee Ann City), the bag is made of canvas woven with carbon threads in the classic Damier pattern and finished with leather trim and silver hardware. Lined with black Mircofibre on the inside, it is as handsome as it is rugged. A limited offering from Louis Vuitton, it will be available only till June or July 2011 before it is taken off the shelves.
My only grouse? The fact that it does not come with the shoulder strap that’s always useful when travelling overseas. And the fact that it costs so much. By comparison the Keepall45 in Monogram Macassar will only set me back by SGD1960. What do you think I should do?
