Still fresh from my recent trip, one of the essential items one of my travelling companions brought was his copy of the Louis Vuitton City Guide for Tokyo. Chockful of informative tips on where to go and what to eat (as well as great shopping destinations), it was something I told myself I needed to get when I returned to Singapore.
Priced at just SGD48 apiece, each City Guide comes in its own hardcover case, and honestly make very handsome and relevant gifts for Christmas, especially if you know your friend is heading overseas next year. Also, because it is from Louis Vuitton, you can expect nothing but the best frills when it comes to gift-wrapping. Besides Tokyo, other stand-alone editions include Berlin, New York and Paris (2011 editions).
Or splash out a little more and get him or her the boxed set which covers 30 cities in Europe (9 guides in all) for SGD190.
Also, don’t forget to check out the Louis Vuitton City Guide Postcard Box, a set of 100 postcards (depicting 100 cities) beautifully illustrated by Ruben Toledo, the same man behind all the illustrations in the City Guide collection. Printed in bright vibrant colours, I seriously wouldn’t mind a set myself for X’mas especially since it only costs SGD165.
Last but by no means least, here’s Louis Vuitton’s latest tome, the Louis Vuitton: 100 Legendary Trunks hardcover showcases 100 of Louis Vuitton’s most exceptional creations from 150 years of craftsmanship and savoir-faire.
I could go on and on about why you should definitely get this SGD240 tome if you’re a huge Louis Vuitton fan but I’ll just let you watch the short video instead. And my wish list just gets longer and longer.
