I don’t know why but when I first set my eyes on this Le Pliage tote (EUR290) the first thing (or in this case, person) I thought of was Heidi Klum. But seriously, it does have a rather Germanic feel about it, no? The central floral motif, the side leather buckles, it almost resembles the tracht which is the traditional national costume of Germany.
If the previous bag channelled Germany, this one (EUR120) is definitely giving me an Austrian vibe. I’m not 100% sure if that’s tweed with a matching front flap and handles in leather, but I’m definitely curious about the design. Why did they stencil a silver serving tray onto the bag in the first place?
By far the cutest Le Pliage from the Fall-Winter 2010 Womens Longchamp collection, the Longchamp Le Pliage Badges collection. Available in 3 different colours including Bilberry (shown above, EUR68) and 4 different sizes, I adore the little bugs ‘plastered’ on the front of the tote.
Besides the bags, there is a fifth item in this collection, a cosmetic bag that also comes with its little own bug. More updates to come, including hopefully images and retail prices of the much-loved Longchamp Le Pliage Eiffel Tower which will be available in black and yellow for F/W10.
And from the looks of it, I’ll definitely be getting one for myself as well.
