Catching glimpses of it at the various Louis Vuitton boutiques during my recent trip to Taipei, the pre-fall Louis Vuitton Monogram Aviator had been on my mind ever since I saw it in a press release. But because I hadn’t checked it out for myself in person I decided to hold on posting it till I did. Finding some spare time today in between appointments I decided to pop into their store at ION Orchard for a close-up look.
It is not a bag you fall for at first sight, though there’s something about the shimmering monogrammed jacquard exterior that’s certainly alluring. Available in 3 different colours, Burgundy, Khaki and Marine (shown above), they all come with colour coordinated leather handles and a removable shoulder strap.
Taking my time with the bag, the attention to detail is amazing. The stitching on the leather, the quilted nylon interior in bright orange, even the leather pulls are oversized and indulgent. My only worry? Priced at SGD4750 each, it will be hard to move these babies (as gorgeous as they may be) since they technically don’t fit into either the corporate work or the classy evening categories.
And in true Bagaholicboy style, I left the store lusting for something from the F/W10 collection, the Louis Vutton Monte Carlo Moccasin in denim canvas. Priced at SGD995 a pair, they come in Noir, Stone-Washed and Marine. Lust.
