Having been in Taipei since last Wednesday I missed quite a bit of stuff online, especially the menswear shows in Paris. Not that I’m complaining, especially since I had a rocking good time attending both the Loewe F/W10 press presentation, and the Loewe Leather Icons collection launch party in Taipei. But more on that later.
Now it’s finally time to present my take on the bags that were shown during the Spring-Summer 2011 Mens Louis Vuitton runway show.
Pieces that came down the runway included the canvas tote ‘stamped’ with Louis Vuitton’s classic house emblem (I want), a full leather tote (if I’m going to pay so much for a something in leather I’d rather get a Naxos Keepall) and 4 or 5 Damier pieces that seem to be made of nylon (interesting, especially the one in Green).
What I am definitely gunning for however are these; a set of lightly monogrammed bags in canvas (or is it linen), finished off with leather trim and handles. Truth be told I love them all, especially the handheld totes which are definitely functional as well. And from the looks of it, even the handheld totes will come with an additional shoulder strap built in and that’s always useful. Even their reinterpretation of the classic Steamer (top right) rocks, though it will be a pain to lug around when you’re out and about.
Will I be getting anything from this collection then? Yes. Most definitely yes.
