Earlier in the day we attended the Fall-Winter 2010 Womens Loewe press presentation, which you can read about here. That very night after a sumptuous dinner at Shin Yeh (Taipei 101) we were transported in style to the Huashan Cultural Park in Taipei.
Reaching the venue proper I was immediately awestruck. Loewe had spared no expense doing up the entire area (formerly a cluster of disused godowns), and had their logo beamed onto the buildings’ facades and along the long walkway leading up to party central.
Just to give you an idea of how packed it was, it was filled to the brim with VIPs, celebrities and of course the press corp from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and of course, our little Singapore/Malaysia contingent.
Gigantic banners were put up, featuring the cast members of the Loewe Leather Icons collection; which included Pixie Geldof, looming above the guests at the seating area.
Before long, Hong Kong celebrity Kelly Chen showed up with her hair slicked back and dressed in a classic Perfecto-style biker jacket, causing quite a stir.
The ‘stars’ of the Loewe Leather Icons collection were also in a full attendance and displayed on their very own podium. Comprising 21 pieces in all for both men and women, the collection offers consumers elegant and sharply crafted classics that are both stylish and very wearable.
The very first collection is made entirely in black (the iconic colour of leatherwear) and will be updated in perennial collections from year to year. My personal favourite? The definitive Loewe blazer that’s oh so luxe and soft to the touch.
The music was good (they even flew in the top DJ from Dragon-I), the company great and the alcohol flowed all night. Thanks for the really great time Loewe!
