If you loved 300, you will love Spartacus: Blood And Sand, the classic retelling of the Roman republic’s most infamous rebel. With the first season currently screening in the States, it’s the kind of series that will appeal to most demographics. If you’re a woman, you’ll love all the eye candy and politics between town hussies Lucretia and Ilithyia. If you’re a straight man, you’ll love all the action, blood and gore. And if you’re a gay man, just look up.
Need I say more?
Besides being really violent, the series also contains scenes of full-frontal nudity which is why I’m guessing we’ll probably never be able to catch it in Singapore, which is also why I’ve already wait-listed for the Season 1 DVD box set on Amazon.
On a more sombre note, 35-year-old actor Andy Whitfield who plays Spartacus (again, just look up) has just been diagnosed with early-stage cancer thus halting series production of Season 2. Filming will resume once he recovers, so fingers crossed everyone!
