Loewe straddles both traditional and contemporary leather crafting for the Spring-Summer 2010 Womens Loewe collection, one that explores handworked techniques like whip-stitching and perforation, as well as using innovative laser and high pressure water cutting to produce intricate graphic and lace patterns.
2010 also marks the 35th anniversary of Loewe’e signature colourway ‘Oro’ (or gold), which also explains why you’ll be seeing lots of pieces in this colour like the one shown above, the Loewe Amazona Oro Suede. And that’s not all, note the fluro orange handles which are the contemporary twist. Old gold meets new orange.
Remember the ‘squarish’ Loewe Amazona I mentioned earlier? Here it is again with the same old gold/fluro orange combination, but in luxe ostrich leather. It’s a 45; all big and roomy… and did I say it has my name all over it?
Here’s a tiny transparent Amazona, made up of orange vinyl and embellished with gems and rivets. Don’t hate it, just don’t love it much either.
If suede worries you and the colour of the first one was too light, here’s a darker, sexier variant in brown calf leather. Stay tuned for more updates on prices and release dates in Singapore, and click here to check them out in their full glory on my Facebook fan page.
