Being approached by Apple earlier this year to create a special collection for their bestsellers (including the Macbook, Macbook Pro and iPhone) was a dream come true for Mulberry’s creative director Emma Hill who is a self-confessed fanatic of all things Mac.
‘Apple products are too beautiful to reside in drab bags! Apple and Mulberry share a legacy of craftsmanship and I’m thrilled that we were asked to be Apple’s first luxury collaboration’, says Hill. So what can fans of Mulberry and Apple expect?
As far as 13″ Macbook sleeves are concerned, these leather ones (shown above) are my favourites. We’ve got the Mulberry Daria Sleeve in Black and the Mulberry Bayswater Sleeve in Blue; both are priced at GBP350 each. And no, these are not the only colours available; check out the Daria Sleeve in Neon Pink here, or the Bayswater Sleeve in Coral here.
Next, how about Mulberry’s most iconic bag specially adapted for the popular Macbook? Presenting the Mulberry Bayswater 13″ available in natural leather in Oak (GBP650), and patent leather in Black (GBP750).
And for those of you who need a iPhone/iPod Touch carry case, Mulberry has them in 6 different colours in 2 designs at GBP150 a pop. Each comes with its own sling, though I will probably only get the one I’m eyeing (Bayswater Mini Messenger in Blue) if the sling is detachable. Officially the collection launches online at Mulberry on 1 December 2009, along with boutiques worldwide so best to check with your local store if you’re keen.
