In a global initiative to promote retail, restore consumer confidence, and celebrate fashion, Vogue US, along with their global editions are coordinating evening extravaganzas in their respective capitals called Fashion’s Night Out.
And because I will be in London that very night I am pretty psyched up.
Extended shopping hours, makeovers, workshops and limited edition releases will be unveiled on 10 September 2009 for the one night only ‘celebration of fashion’. And from the looks of it, I will be hanging around the Bond Street area, where YSL will be launching a new bag amidst music and cocktails. Louis Vuitton will have a live model in their latest RTW offerings and Chanel; a live photo shoot featuring model Daisy Lowe.
Can’t wait! And yes, I leave for London today.
Update: 10 September 2009
I am in London! After a long 12 hours flight we finally made it, went for dinner and straight into bed. It is now 7.38 am here (2.38 pm in Singapore) , the air is cold and crisp, and the Sony Vaio W is proving to be really useful.
So what do I have planned today? We are heading to the Mayfair after some breakfast at a local pub across the road and some stops include Goyard and Marc by Marc Jacobs along Mount Street. It is also Fashion’s Night Out today, and a rep from Mulberry just invited me to their event tonight at New Bond Street (champagne reception and in-store DJ sounds really good) but we’ll see how it all pans out. Later…
