Gucci ‘Shanghai Dragon’ Boston

Made specially to celebrate the opening of Gucci’s new flagship store in Shanghai (Golden Eagle International Shopping Square), Frida Giannini designed the special ‘Shanghai Dragon’ Boston, following the success of the others that included the ‘Sloaney’ collection (for London) and ‘Gucci ♥ NY’ collection (for New York).

The Gucci Shanghai Dragon Boston is very limited edition (only 200 made), a version of Gucci’s popular GG Boston bag. Designed in white GG coated canvas, it has a bold red stripe and the Gucci logo which is stamped in Guccio Gucci’s script. As a nod to China’s ancient culture and iconic symbolism, two brilliant red dragons swirl across the front of the bag.

They will go on sale at the formal inauguration of the Shanghai store (also Gucci’s 28th mainland boutique by the way) today and I expect them to literally fly out the boutique.

will its really a statement guys….well i can say that it has its own look..rather than all those common Balenciaga motorcycle range and Louis Vuitton bags.please at least there is a sense of China which is the objective and purpose. Thus , we are not on the right position to retaliate.

Though I agree with you guys, in all fairness to Frida, the bag was designed for the mainland Chinese market, thus the use of the colour red and that pair of dragons which they love, love, love…
