Ask The Bagaholicboy #72 – A Tote Bag For Work

Q: Hi Bagaholicboy, thanks for the fantastic blog! I learned a lot more about fashion and brands through your blog. I will be starting work in the finance industry soon, and am looking for a tote bag (I like the Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite Tadao, however it is really out of my budget). I am a stocky guy with fair skin who stands at 1.7 m.

Specifically, my budget is SGD500, and I would prefer something with handles long enough so that I can carry on my shoulders, as well a sling. I do not mind canvas and daring designs to stand out. Do you have any recommendations for me?
Jonathan Ho

A: Dear Jonathan thanks for the email. While I applaud your audacity to try something daring at your new job in this time of great uncertainty, my best advice would be to just get a smart and sensible tote. And in this instance I would like to recommend the Coach Varick Nylon Drafting Tote. Yes I covered it here before on this blog, and I firmly believe it is a great tote for work. Besides being large and roomy, it has loads of interior and exterior pockets for all your personals.

The one in Bright Marine (shown above) will also suit your fair skin tone and though the tote exceeds your budget (it costs SGD675), it is still worth it. Get it from Coach DFS Scottswalk Galleria.
Love, Bagaholicboy

    Thanks for your reply.

Although it is slightly out of my budget, I can still consider it. I will take a look soon.
