Separated At Birth #2 – Jack Spade Canal Street Coal Bag & Louis Vuitton Street GM


While surfing at Jack Spade, guess what I came across? The Jack Spade Canal Street Coal Bag. And surprise suprise, it looks very much like its long-lost twin brother, the Louis Vuitton Street GM in Red from the Spring-Summer 2007 Womens Louis Vuitton collection.

Me thinks the creative department from Jack Spade & Louis Vuitton should stop going to Hong Kong for inspirational design/buying trips.

    This kind of bag was called ‘immigrant worker’s luggage’, or ‘turkish suitcase’, when I was a kid…
    I found it funny when LV brought it for something like USD1500. Right in Paris, where there’s so many immigrants.
    Some of them really made it, so with this bag their wives and daughters were able to show that they’re rich, but still represent where they came from…
