I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. As far as I’m concerned, no woman should be without the now iconic Arty Ring, the gorgeous hunka-chunk amalgamation of metal and stone. Almost every woman I know worth her weight in designer baubles has one, and specially for Valentines’s Day, the French house has released the YSL Valentine’s Arty Ring, an homage to love topped with a fuschia colored glass cabochon.

Priced at SGD390 and now available in Singapore (or get it online at Net-A-Porter where it sells for GBP165), the ring comes with an extra surprise. Engraved at the back of the ring is the word ‘Love’. Short, sweet and to the point. Love.

A classic hue as far as colours go, a man can never have too much of anything black as far as I’m concerned. It goes with almost anything, is easy to match and fuss-free as far as maintenance is concerned.

In hues of caramel brown and golden honey, some pieces featured in this montage remind me of sticky sweet orbs of rock candy. Especially drool-worthy are the rose gold bracelet dripping with brown diamonds from Hermès which costs a whopping SGD110,000, the swirly cognac brown diamond ring from Goldheart and the ever popular Artsy.

YSL Arty Bangle

As far as I’m concerned, the rings from the YSL Arty collection were (and actually still are) one of the house’s bestsellers ever since they were launched a couple of seasons ago, with every self-respecting fashionista I know (from magazine editors to fashion bloggers) owning one or more.

Now for the SGD347,382 question. Will the new YSL Arty Bangle that’s due out soon from the F/W11 collection be just as popular? Retailing for SGD850 a pop, it is similar to the rings with the same detailed glass stone.

YSL Chyc Mouse Pad

While it is one thing to invest in a designer leather case for say, your laptop or even your iPad, it is another thing altogether to indulge in a leather mouse pad. And as far as designer brands go, this is probably the first time I’ve come across such a luxurious accoutrement created simply for the benefit of the mouse.

Introducing the YSL Chyc Mouse Pad, which retails for USD250 and sports the the iconic Y charm. Much too much, or just right?

YSL Vavin Duffle

I have received countless emails enquiring about this particular bag which was first spotted on Jak & Jill Blog and made its rounds around the blogosphere.

And frankly I was stumped. But thanks to a reader from Hong Kong, I now have answers.

Part of the YSL Vavin collection, there are actually 3 pieces in this collection, which is comprised of the duffle (shown above), the tote and the sling bag. And that’s not all. Apparently the 3 YSL stores in Hong Kong (Causeway Bay, Canton Road and Tsim Sha Tsui) have a set each for sale and they retail for HKD17,450, HKD14,250 and HKD6950 respectively.

Bagaholicboy Muses #205 – Walk On The Wild Side

Everyone’s doing it. From the Italians to the French, from the British to the Americans, everything’s coming up leopard for F/W10. Like it or hate it, this is one trend that has grown roots all over the place and will be around for some time to come. Take the French for example. Dior has 3 pairs of leopard footwear in their pre-fall collection, including this pair of heels. YSL’s take? A full collection of leopard pieces, including this purse in black and white.

Italians Prada and Gucci are also following suit with their interpretations of the leopard print. Prada takes the popular Canape and gives it a full leopard treatment, while Gucci did a classic frame bag trimmed with lots of dark brown leather.

You would at least expect the British to be more staid and proper, but no that didn’t happen with Mulberry. May I present the iconic Bayswater in degradé leopard haircalf; their definitive hero product for F/W10.

Last but not least, we’ve got an onyx ring with round brilliant diamonds (SGD1463) from the Goldheart Mode collection. Sure it may not be exactly in a leopard motif, but there is certainly something very animalistic about it. Grrr…

Fall-Winter 2010 Womens YSL

It’s not even due out in Singapore anytime soon but I couldn’t resist giving you guys a sneak peek at the upcoming Fall-Winter 2010 Womens YSL collection. First up, the stunning YSL Muse Two that left me gasping for air. There’s something about the shiny patent leather that’s oh so sexy don’t you think?

Besides the Muse Two, other YSL pieces that will be coming out in new variations/materials/colours include the Easy and the Roady as well.

Another stunning piece in the upcoming collection is this boxy purple python shoulder bag that’s accented with a simple Y clasp. I’m not exactly sure of its name, but I do know this; boxy shoulder bags (first made famous by Celine) are certainly making a comeback.

I could go on and on, but that would be cruel, considering they aren’t even launched in Singapore yet. Instead let me introduce 2 bags that will be launched very soon, are exclusive to Singapore and are definitely worth checking out.

As all of you may have known by now, everyone is opening a store in Marina Bay Sands (#B1-116). YSL will also be doing so in the coming months, a 1468 sq ft space ‘painted’ with opium lacquer, a YSL signature. And that’s not all. Besides the upcoming soft opening, there will also be a pair of limited edition YSL Muse bags that will only be sold exclusively at this particular store.

YSL ‘Polka Dot’ Hamptons

Spotted in Taipei, the S/S10 YSL ‘Polka Dot’ Hamptons is now at 50% off. Retailing for SGD1400 or so now, it’s a really great deal considering the fact that it is in full leather.

And it would have been an easy decision if not for the fact that I’ve also spotted the Louis Vuitton Monogram Macassar Porte-Document that I was previously hunting down in Paris last year to no avail. From the F/W09 runway collection, it’s definitely something I want as well, except for the fact that I’ve already purchased Monogram Canvas Poche Documents which now holds my Macbook Pro when I go from point to point.

Hence my dilemma. Whatever should I do?
