With the Tod’s Factory project entering its fourth chapter this year, the Italian house has chosen to collaborate with Japanese shoemaker Hender Scheme to create an avant-garde capsule comprising RTW, bags, as well as numerous pairs of shoes which are all given the Ryo Kashiwazaki (the founder of Hender Scheme) twist. Perfect for those who respect the craft and comfort of Tod’s but crave for something new and different every now and then, here are 5 things to know about the Tod’s Factory: Hender Scheme collection.
01 – The starting point of the collection? It is none other than the concept of “TOD’S ⇆ DOT’S” where Ryo Kashiwazaki played with the ‘pebbles’ element on the Tod’s Gommino by introducing it in various proportions for a cool and modern approach. The Maxi Pebble loafers (shown above, SGD1500), in particular, are a key highlight of the collection, with ample colour/sizes for both him and her.

02 – Love slip-on styles for easy daily wear (SGD1080)? They will come in 3 different colours for men and women. And for something really different, there’s even a leather objet d’art (think portable wine holder, SGD240) that will make a great picnic companion too.

03 – Another must-have item is the Hen Shopping Tote, which will come in two sizes. Priced at SGD1060 and SGD1840 respectively, these foldover cut-out totes are reminiscent of old-school lunch bags, except this time it’s rendered in buttery soft leather and embossed with Tod’s signature right in front.
04 – For those looking for a sling/shoulder bag, check out the Hen Circle Bag. Imagine a full circle bag crafted out of leather that’s finished with 3 different slings (2 long, 1 short) for you to mix and match as you please. Also available in 2 sizes (SGD2730 and SGD3110 respectively), they will come in black and beige, which is more a light brown.
05 – The Tod’s Factory: Hender Scheme collection will only be available at Tod’s Paragon Shopping Centre from 8 October 2021, so you should head down to view them in person. They’re available on a first-come-first-served basis, so you know what to do if you don’t want to miss out on this limited-edition collaboration.
