What’s more, stalking Burberry online has become a daily morning ritual, as it means I can see if they had any new arrivals. This morning, however, my heart sank when I saw that the shoes had already been released, but were also all sold out.

Priced at SGD1395 (GBP550/USD850) a pair, they are available in 3 different colour combinations, made with calfskin and cork. I especially love the weave and stitching details on the shoe, along with the leather fringes that were rather outstanding. And apparently many out there also agreed with me, which is no wonder why it already sold out though it was released barely 24 hours.

Still, part of me wishes it is a glitch or that new stocks will be released soon. But till that happens, I’ll just keep waiting. And stalking.

Now may I present the most extravagant: the Burberry Prorsum Studded Leather Document Case.

Not for the faint-hearted, I would like to think of it as the Christian Louboutin equivalent of document cases. Made of 100% calf leather and embedded with at least 2867 metallic studs (yes, I counted them), the 41 cm by 28 cm document case is truly a sight for sore eyes. Definitely a statement piece (albeit a heavy one), I like to think that the weight will work in your advantage in case you need to use it to fend off would-be robbers.

Finished off with chunky oversized zips completes the look of this head-turner, which in my honest opinion is more form than function, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Think of it this way, when was wearing studded Louboutins ever about function anyway?

Get it for SGD6895 online now where it is available in 3 different colours, and you’ll get it delivered to your address within 8 weeks. You’ll just need the right mix of attitude and flair to carry this one off. Along with strong biceps and a thick wallet.

And that brings us to the F/W12 Burberry Prorsum Elephant Print Leather Holdall, which just made its Milan debut. Measuring 43 cm across by 45 cm high, this massive tote/duffle hybrid is also the most functional of the lot.

You can use it as a gym bag, or as a piece of carry on luggage when travelling. The only thing I’ll worry about is the weight of it all when it is filled out, since something like that (even when empty) will still weigh quite a bit.

Still, there’s no denying how handsome it is, and bags that look solid and structured are naturally heavy anyway, so there’s no escaping it. Unless of course you’re strictly in the market for something that’s made up of nylon or canvas, which is this baby is not. It’s also very timeless, which means you can use it year after year and not worry about it going out of style.

Retailing for SGD3795 and available in 3 different colours (Mustard, Deep Red and Tan), you’ll have till 22 January 2012 to decide if you want to get it within 8 weeks.

Measuring 40 cm across by 42 cm high, this massive hobo is extremely roomy. I would know, I took it out for a whirl today where it gamely took on a pair of gym shoes, a change of clothing, a toiletries kit, 6 tubes of Nespresso capsules, 4 buns, 3 magazines and then some. Sure, it was heavy, but when the hobo is over your shoulder, and pressed against your body, it somehow doesn’t feel as heavy.

I also love the fact that it comes with a zip pocket on the inside, good for securing small personals. The bright colour is another plus, and instantly perks up any outfit however dull it may be.

The only downside is the price, since SGD2975 is still a princely sum for most. I did, however, put it into perspective and compared it to another designer label’s nylon (yes, just nylon) duffle that comes with leather handles and retails for SGD2600, and suddenly it doesn’t seem that expensive anymore.

7 months later I’m still thinking about it, and what’s more, it has popped up for sale on the online site where it is currently retailing for SGD2795. Don’t ask me why, but there’s something about this woven jute and leather hobo that I can’t seem to get out of my head.

It’s large, it’s roomy and it’s offbeat enough so it doesn’t matter if you’re dressed up (and by up, I mean smart casual) or down. It’s also the kind of bag you use when you don’t want to be taken too seriously, hitting town for the weekend of shopping and hanging out with the guys.

I just can’t decide if I want it bad enough to plonk down so much for it. Guess I’ll just have to wait a little more till it gets to the local stores for a closer look. That, and those shoes, of course.

And while the January’s ad is pretty straightforward (shot against a white background with Eddie holding a mug, of all things), it does allow the fabulously detailed RTW and accessories to stand out, from Cara’s weaved sleeve trench to Eddie’s coat with a woolly collar.

The clutch Cara is holding is particularly alluring, and even though it isn’t launched yet, you can check out some pre-Spring pieces available online at Burberry, including the Burberry Prorsum Woven Zig Zag Clutch which retails for SGD1895.

As for myself, I’m waiting for these shoes to launch, as it has become a personal mission to buy at least one pair per season (already bought my F/W11 pair which is on sale at Matches Fashion, by the way), and only from Burberry Prorsum or Prada. Don’t ask me why though, I just do.

Almost square, the cotton check body comes adorned with bridle leather belt detailing, along with a rolled leather shoulder strap and the gold-tone hardware, which finishes it off rather nicely, in my opinion.

It is also pretty functional; you can carry it one of two ways (hand held or across the body via its detachable shoulder strap), which is always good.

Retailing for SGD2195, it isn’t that expensive either, given today’s prices on designer handbags. In fact, you’ll probably be paying the same amount for something from a competitor that can be seen all over town. Which makes this the rather unique option if you’re looking to stand out from the crowd.
