In Taipei I got him the Loewe Anagram Portfolio (shown above) which isn’t even available in Singapore. Proving to be a really snug fit, I can also use the portfolio on its own given the fact that it has many slots and pockets on the inside.

From the States he also now has the Incase AnOther + Colette Sleeve that’s designed by Gareth Pugh. I’m a sucker for limited editions, and having the gorgeous quilted interior at just USD79.95 makes it even more worthwhile.

But that’s not all I’ve got.

Yesterday I picked up the Cote et Ciel Diver Sleeve in Toffy Brown as well from Cumulus. Retailing for SGD60, it is a really snug neoprene case that protects Mike from the all possible bumps and bruises. I also got it because Mike and the diver sleeve will fit nicely within the Louis Vuitton Mongram Canvas Poche Documents (SGD815) that I got in Singapore before my Taipei trip. I didn’t get their computer sleeve because like the Loewe portfolio, I can also use the Poche Documents on its own whenever Mike is having an off day.

From the Spring-Summer 2010 Mens Tod’s collection comes this pair; the Tod’s J.P. Loafer (SGD690), which has been on my lust list for the longest time. And since I swear by how comfortable Tod’s is for me, there really was no reason not to get it (especially since they are a gift from Boo). Made to look all ‘distressed’ and ‘aged’, it’s just perfect for me when it comes to work or play. And now that I’ve got this one, I’m thinking if I should get the other one in Blue.

In other words, I had to have it.

It took me a while but I finally tracked one down at Luggage Base. They only had the one in Pink left, but at USD69.90 it was just too cheap to pass up. But because they did not ship directly to Singapore, I got a friend in the States (thanks Francis!) to order it on my behalf.

Measuring 30 cm by 21 cm, I love the fact that the body of the attaché was constructed with Samsonite’s signature ABS shell. Pop it open and you’re immediately greeted by the vibrant 1960s floral print (it’s actually a 1965 reissue). Besides having PDA and mobile phone slots, it also comes with a little zip pouch in the same floral print.

I won’t have the guts to bring it out, so I’ve decided that it will hold all my Louis Vuitton bric-a-brac, including my bag charms, rings and other bits. My early only X’mas present to myself and yes, I’m pleased as peas I finally got it.

Last Friday we trooped down to the invite-only Tod’s Friends & Family Sale, which was held at a local hotel. I was not really expecting to get anything since I had fears that the merchandise available would either be too pricey still or less than desirable.

Spread over 2 ballrooms, one held mainly shoes for both men and women, while the other had bags and SLGs. Walking into the one which had shoes first, I immediately spotted this pair, the Tod’s Nuovo Gommini Moccasin. In red, white and blue, it was love at first sight. 3 pairs were on the shelf and only 1 was in my size.

I took that as a sign and the rest as they say is history. This also makes it my 3rd pair of Tod’s, truly one of the most comfortable (discounted) shoe brands money can buy. I love bargains.

Perfect for those who need something ‘manly’ enough for work (and not be mocked by colleagues who still carry backpacks to work), while it may be clean and simple on the outside, the interior definitely impresses. For starters, there is a large front pocket that’s secured by magnetic snap closure, along with another small zip pocket inside.

Inside, there’s a larger zip pocket on one side, and on the other, 2 mid-size slots, a mobile pocket and 3 leather pen loops. Completely lined with fabric and trimmed with leather, it is finished off with double handles that are part canvas, part leather.

Walking down the stretch, it was lined with enough brand names to make any shopaholic weep. Chanel, Dior, Fendi; you name it, they had it. And then we came across Loewe. I had always wanted something from the Loewe Anagram collection since it came out, and though I hadn’t decided which one to get I was eyeing the Loewe Anagram Weekender. And even though it’s gorgeous, it was much too big for my taste, and I didn’t want something I could only use on holidays.

Enter the Loewe Anagram Weekend Handbag (EUR585), all boxy and angular with its monogrammed coated canvas body. Exceedingly lightweight, I figured it could work well enough enough for my wardrobe so long as I was smartly dressed that day.

Small enough that I could use on a daily basis, yet with enough details to keep me enthralled for a long time to come. Stitched leather pull, long leather clochette, and even my very own shiny gold lock, it was love at first sight (yet again).

2 down, 3 to go. So what should I reveal next?

I did not really believe it till I tested it out for myself. It’s indeed lightweight and strong, and already I’m thinking that it would make a useful secondary wallet for me when I am in Europe. How much? Just SGD22.90, which really makes them affordable gifts (for both guys and girls).

Well after our afternoon movie at Shaw Lido (I Love You, Man was pretty good) we decided to head to DFS Scottswalk Galleria for a quick twirl. We bumped into a colleague of mine who was with her girlfriends but more on that later. 

I did my usual rounds, checking out what went on sale (or was reduced further) and it was the usual suspects with nothing much that caught my eye. We kept on walking and reached Mulberry which had a huge sale sign out front. We walked closer and very soon caught sight of the 50% and 60% placards in front of various bags and SLGs.

And right at the corner in a tiny cubicle of its own was the Mulberry Taylor Tote in Denim. Marked down to 50% off, it was originally SGD999, now reduced to SGD499.50. Boo was quite sure we should get it, and suddenly something clicked. Remember I mentioned my colleague and her girlfriends who were shopping in the same building? One of them works for DFS and if I used her staff card there it would be an additional 25% off, which meant the tote would only cost SGD374.60 after everything.

We asked for a brand new piece (thankfully they had one) and decided to get it. It was too good a deal to walk away from, and that’s how I ended up with my first bag from Mulberry. I love its structured body, its full leather base and its all-round good looks! Love it!

I used to spend all my money on bags, but lately I’ve realised that shoes do play an important part too (no thanks in part to Joe and Mr Duck). And while I’m still too cheap to get my first pair of loafers from Tod’s (mark my words one day I will), the Opening Ceremony Ankle Boots was too good a deal to pass up. Where else can you get a really nice pair in leather/suede for GBP39?

And Joe, thanks again for throwing in the flip-flops and condoms from Marc Jacobs. I may not wear those slippers just yet, but I will definitely put those condoms to good use.

The usual suspects were on sale, from Bally (up to 70% off), to Celine (up to 70% off), to Chloé (up to 70% off) to Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs (both up to 30% off). We kept going round and round, I almost decided to get the Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q. Magazine Clutch in Indigo (SGD400 plus after 30% off) and use it as a man-clutch, but I could not really decide if I wanted it.

We kept walking and finally ended at Coach, which was also having a sale. Bags and accessories released as recently as March 2009 were on sale, from 30% to 70% off. Mum picked up the Coach Hamptons Vintage Leather Hobo (released in 2008), which at 50% off came in at about SGD764 after discount. 

As for me, I spotted the Coach Legacy Slim Travel Case in Mahogany. I was pretty sure it would be pricey, seeing how it was full-leather and was big enough to be a weekend travel bag. It came with all the bells and whistles, including a removable shoulder strap, brushed aluminium padlock, keys, luggage tag and leather clochette that added a nice refined touch to it. Best thing about it? It was 70% off, so from SGD1355 I only paid SGD406.50. Not bad at all, considering I can be ‘rough’ with it and not worry about scratches or stains. Love it!
