And my mission today? To look for unusual, offbeat objects that had interesting patterns or prints for girls and guys. They also had to be monochromatic, since I’m still reeling from all the brights that are de rigueur during the festive season. What’s more, stalking Burberry online has become a daily morning ritual, as it means I can see if they had any new arrivals. This morning, however, my heart sank when I saw that the shoes had already been released, but were also all sold out.

Priced at SGD1395 (GBP550/USD850) a pair, they are available in 3 different colour combinations, made with calfskin and cork. I especially love the weave and stitching details on the shoe, along with the leather fringes that were rather outstanding. And apparently many out there also agreed with me, which is no wonder why it already sold out though it was released barely 24 hours.

Still, part of me wishes it is a glitch or that new stocks will be released soon. But till that happens, I’ll just keep waiting. And stalking.

In case you’re wondering, the flats are all Kartell, who came up with the technology, an interwoven plastic technopolymer that’s 100% recyclable to be exact. Coupled with Moschino’s quirkiness, the end result is this fun collaboration of colourful flats, each topped off with a bow.

And while I can’t tell how you how they fit, they do look pretty comfortable and are priced at SGD230 a pair. Check them out for yourself at Moschino Paragon, which is located smack between Hermès and Marni.

Secondly, the collection is in my opinion more wearable than the first one, with a colour palette consisting mostly of blues, whites and blacks. In other words, those expecting loud (and bright) prints like the first instalment will be severely disappointed.

Thirdly, some of the accessories are making a comeback, like the leather cuff and the necklace with the sword and shield, but instead of gold-tone hardware, they will be available in silver-tone hardware this time round.

Fourthly, if I had to choose just one item from the whole lot, it will have to be the silk robe. And last, but by no means least, while River Viperi is hot, David Beckham for H&M is way hotter.

What I am enamoured with, however, is this orange/red/blue print with birds of paradise flowers that’s appealing to my inner auntie. Add that to the fact that the Lunar New Year is just round the corner makes it a home run as far as I’m concerned. Just perfect for the festivities, isn’t it?

If the printed Obsedia clutch is not your thing, this flat clutch may appeal to you, perfect for making a statement (and storing all your red packets) at the same time. Or go all out and get the Antigona tote printed with the same bright floral motifs.

And because the shirts and accessories featuring this print won’t be available till 2012, I’m actually quite happy to settle for the scarf for now, part of the Prada Foulard collection that’s now available at only 16 Prada boutiques worldwide, including our very own Prada Paragon.

Released just in time for Christmas, the scarves come in two sizes (60 cm by 60 cm or 90 cm by 90 cm) and in variety of prints besides the one I’m personally after. Ladies can pick from the ones featuring the Crisantemo print (chrysanthemum in Italian, obviously), with prices ranging from SGD520 to SGD700 apiece.

The guys can also choose from the Dama print, which is very Prada, by the way, amongst many others, including those featuring cityscapes and a couple more derived from the S/S12 runway collection, with prints like Car and Postcards as well. Which is your favourite?

And while the January’s ad is pretty straightforward (shot against a white background with Eddie holding a mug, of all things), it does allow the fabulously detailed RTW and accessories to stand out, from Cara’s weaved sleeve trench to Eddie’s coat with a woolly collar.

The clutch Cara is holding is particularly alluring, and even though it isn’t launched yet, you can check out some pre-Spring pieces available online at Burberry, including the Burberry Prorsum Woven Zig Zag Clutch which retails for SGD1895.

As for myself, I’m waiting for these shoes to launch, as it has become a personal mission to buy at least one pair per season (already bought my F/W11 pair which is on sale at Matches Fashion, by the way), and only from Burberry Prorsum or Prada. Don’t ask me why though, I just do.

From the Spring-Summer 2012 Mens Christian Louboutin comes the No Limit Strass & Spikes, a pair of leather shoes that’s finished in a variety of embellishments (and colours, if I might add), with cork covering the counter, elongated metal spikes on the top cap and strass covering half of the shoe on one side. Expected to retail for SGD2500 a pair once it hits the shelves early next year, my mind is still reeling from it all.

So tell me.

The forthcoming collection is pretty straightforward to say the least, a homage to colours like soft pink and pearlised gold with the right amount of shine.

You’ll also find Chanel icons like the camellia etched onto pieces like the iPad case, to actual fabric brooches, exotic bags and clutches in the nudest hues, as well as a couple of pieces in the girly sherbert pink. No word yet on the prices (that would be in another post) but most everything featured here will arrive in early February 2012 if not earlier.
