Gucci F/W18 Journey Sneakers

Gucci’s upcoming IT-sneaker made its debut at the Italian label’s Fall-Winter 2018 show back in February. Yes, that very show held in an operating theatre where models cradled baby dragons and human heads within their arms. And while that stole the show for some, others kept their eyes fixed firmly on Gucci’s latest rendition of its ‘ugly Dad’ sneaker.

While some call it the SEGA Crystal Sneaker or the Chunky Bejewelled Sneaker, this pair is simply known as the Journey Sneaker (no, it has nothing to do with Thanos or the Infinity Stones either). Don’t be fooled by its simple name because the shoe is so much more, featuring an intricate combination of mesh, leather, rubber and suede. Over on the shoe tongue, you will find the Gucci logo in the much-loved SEGA font, with the other distinctive feature being the crystal studded strap criss-crossed beautifully over the sneaker.

Definitely an eye-catching pair, it is slated for an earlier release sometime July/August 2018. Colours wise, you can expect the Journey Sneaker (SGD1990) to appear in at least 4 different variations for both men and women. Each colour combination will also come with an additional stone laden strap that’s detachable, allowing you to have two different looks for the price of one.
