Goyard S/S18 Plumet & Poitier

Before we start, a quick clarification. This colour that you see here isn’t going to be available anywhere soon; it was a special one-off created just for the Isetan Shinjuku pop-up that was held in Tokyo last year. Known as Turquoise, let me repeat this one more time. Do not harass your Goyard SA for this, as it isn’t available anymore.

So why did I post this colour then, you ask? Well, it is to show you these 2 new styles from Goyard that you should know of if you didn’t already. The first, known as the Plumet (shown above) is your cute and fun mini sling bag, a 20.5 cm by 14 cm flap bag that comes with two separate compartments on the inside. To be launched at Goyard Singapore in March, I don’t have the bag’s prices yet, but I converted its Japan selling price and it works out to be around SGD1400 or so. Give or take.

Then there’s the Poitier, a tiny top handle tote bag that I think was inspired by the the ones in Goyard’s archives that used to carry champagne or fine bottles of wine. Measuring some 17 cm across at its widest point by 34 cm in height from handle to the base, this would have cost around SGD850 or so in Japan. The bad news? This bag is already sold out in Singapore, but don’t let that stop you from heading down and asking when the next shipment will arrive. And putting yourself down on the wait list for the Plume while you’re at it. Because why not, right?

I have a St. Louis PM that was purchased in Goyard Singapore. After 2 years, the handles started to crack. I hope this is not a recurring problem with the Plume and Poiter. Having said that, the Goyardine monogram is gorgeous.

My 60-plus year old dad asked me how much I paid for this ‘plastic bag’!!! Thank goodness my ex bought it. I wouldn’t be able to afford such ‘an expensive plastic bag’.

LOL! Technically it is coated canvas, and the handles will ‘crack’ over time, especially with frequent use, you know, wear and tear.
Having said that, have you brought it back to Goyard SG yet, they might be able to offer you a solution.
