Jacquemus ‘Le Petit’ Bag

Previously tipped to be one of the contenders taking over Phoebe Philo’s reign at Céline, Simon Porte Jacquemus is no stranger to the fashion world. A designer with a unique aesthetic that’s all about deconstruction, it is his play on shapes and proportions that made his label so popular with fashionistas the world over.

Aside from showing RTW collections at Paris Fashion Week, the Jacquemus label includes bags, such as the ‘Le Petit’ Bag. Its asymmetrical shaped body opens via a magnetic closure at the top, and a similar cut out pattern on the body allows your hand to slip in and carry the bag like a mini tote. Measuring 26 cm across and 15 cm high, the ‘Le Petit’ Bag is equipped with an extra shoulder strap that you can sling over your shoulder for that effortless look.

And while it isn’t the most expensive bag considering it’s made of full leather (and in Spain), it is certainly an interesting one, with the design clearly inspired by bags from the 70s (or was it the 80s?). And with his star on a continued rise, it won’t be long before prices rise, so if you’re in the market for a bag that’s clearly different and won’t burn a huge hole in your wallet, this would be it.
