Gucci Places x Maison Assouline Exclusive Collection

Same but different is perhaps the best way to describe Gucci’s new collaboration with Maison Assouline, a unique concept store in Piccadilly, London, opened by revered book publisher Assouline. Specially selected by Alessandro Michele to be a ‘Gucci Place’, i.e. locations around the world that have inspired the Italian luxury house, there’s also this to fawn over, an exclusive selection of Gucci limited editions that you’ll find nowhere else.

Which brings us to the same but different bit. Look at the image above and you’ll find the pieces familiar; they are after all from Gucci’s Courier collection, but with a twist. Look again and you’ll see the special labels, one that says ‘Gucci Places’, the other ‘Maison Assouline’, which you won’t find on any other Gucci Courier pieces sold anywhere else but at 196A Piccadilly.

So what can you expect from this collab? A zip folio, for one. A small change purse. A long wallet. A pair of iPhone cases, as well as a pair of bags, one a drawstring backpack, the other a single handle shoulder that also features a drawstring closure. No word yet on the prices although I’ve been told they will cost the same as regular Courier pieces in Gucci stores. And if anyone’s going to be in London soon, don’t forget to send over some snaps of these pieces too, ok?
