It’s not the first time anyone has released a soft lambskin purse, nor is it the first time a plastic shopper has been sold. But to offer it together as a set is definitely a first and something French luxury house Céline is doing as part of its Summer 2018 collection.

Part of the much larger Purse collection that includes oversized clutches inspired by vintage coin purses (some come with ruched leather straps, others resemble soft pillows you can hug while on the go), it is this combo that has me all excited for now. Known as the Purse SLG, what you see above is what you’ll get, a lambskin leather wallet that comes in its very own thick plastic shopper, printed with the same words that were on their Spring-Summer 2018 runway show invite in Paris last year.

The good news? You can purchase it as a set for just SGD1300, and I’m assuming besides Black and Lime Green (shown above), there will be other Purse SLG pieces offered in other colours. The bad news? These pieces haven’t yet arrived on our shores, so you’ll just have to wait a little longer till they do. Or head down to any Céline store and get yourself on the wait list. Because with this being part of Phoebe Philo’s last collections, you know everyone will probably want in on the action as well.

For those of you who want this and are in Hong Kong right now, good news. There’s a special Céline pre-launch pop-up happening now at Landmark’s main atrium. Priced at HKD7900 for the sets that come with a thick vinyl shopper and a leather compact wallet, you’ll also find the A5-sized leather zip pouch set that retails for just HKD4600 (or around SGD780). Which is a steal. Do note that pieces are limited so do head down soon. Or get a friend in HK to get it for you stat.
