Burberry x Gosha Rubchinskiy 2018 Capsule Collection

Several months back (well, half a year ago to be specific), indie streetwear brand Gosha Rubchinskiy made headlines by collaborating with the storied British luxury house, Burberry. It was an interesting one especially since although Rubchinskiy had previously teamed up with streetwear names like Fila and Kappa, this was the first time the Russian designer had teamed up with a large fashion house like Burberry. The end result? 5 different looks that came down the runway at Gosha Rubchinskiy’s Spring-Summer 2018 show in July 2017.

Gosha placed a heavy emphasis on Burberry’s signature vintage tartan checks, which were seen across all 5 looks, essentially making the check pattern cool all over again. Carrying a strong 90’s streetwear vibe, certain Burberry design elements were also given Gosha’s cool twist, such as the placement of the ‘GR’ initials on the shirt’s pocket in place of the equestrian logo we’ve all come to be familiar with. What are the key pieces to keep an eye out for, you may ask? The duckbill cap and reversible Harrington jacket, both of which tick all the right boxes in a true street style icon piece. And if you’re really into jackets, take a look at the reconstructed car coat, which is essentially a trench coat that overlays an inner jacket with a complementary vintage check print interior.

Launching 6 January 2018 in stores and online at 7 pm, this is one collection you wouldn’t want to miss, especially if you’re into the whole streetwear movement and a fan of anything Burberry.
