Is it just me, or does anyone out there also feel like Burberry’s September 2017 collection, also known as Christopher Bailey’s swan song, is also turning out to be one of his best? Most everyone I know loves his huge oversized checks on coats, on bags, even caps, and I must say that even I was tempted on many occasions. But before this becomes one of those episodes where I still can’t decide exactly which colour to go for, here’s something for those who want an oversized checked bag but in a more practical shape.

Definitely functional, each rucksack comes armed with a number of zippered pockets on the outside and opens to a wide, roomy interior. Made in Italy, it comes in two key sizes, namely Medium (33 cm by 22 cm) and Large (42 cm by 28 cm), though honestly I’m in love with the former.

Priced at SGD2595, the checked cotton contrasts nicely against its full tartan lining (which would also explains its higher price), and it’s almost like having 2 bags for the price of one though honestly this is just me spouting nonsense (and trying to convince myself) because it isn’t reversible.

Available at Burberry boutiques at ION Orchard, Marina Bay Sands and Paragon Shopping Centre, you’ll find this little number (along with a selection of rucksacks in other colours) along with me standing there wondering if I should. I should, right?
