Louis Vuitton F/W17: Of Brogues, Graphic Flowers & Spaceships

Louis Vuitton presented its Fall-Winter 2017 collection back in March, with a presentation of various themes coming together effortlessly under the direction of Nicolas Ghesquière. And because Bagaholicboy is still mainly about bags that are new, bags you should know about and bags you should buy, here are 3 main themes from the collection that you should be aware of.

First up, there are the Brogues, distinct with the perforated leather detailing contrasting nicely against Monogram Canvas. Working especially well on the City Steamer (a bag that’s inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic Steamer luggage), the City Steamer MM (SGD5800) is their answer to the top-handled tote, and measures some 31 cm by 27 cm. Finished with a removable leather strap and Louis Vuitton’s iconic padlock, it is LV’s perfect city bag for work. If you love the design but want a different style, you can opt for the Metis MM, the Petite Malle and the Twist MM, all of which come with brogue detailing as well.

Next it is all about the blooms with Graphic Flowers, which was kinda already covered in this post. Rendered in bold, bright (the coloured versions) and sharp lines, the flowers add an interesting edge to the bags, as seen on the Petite Malle (SGD7900) and Twist MM (SGD6000) above.

Last, but by no means least, there’s the Spaceship theme, though it isn’t literal as it sounds. Nothing blinks and nothing flies. Instead, some of the French luxury house’s most iconic of bags are given a futuristic-looking exterior. With the Twist PM (SGD5600), the futuristic Spaceship textural effect can be seen from afar, coming in a Black or White version that’s equally chic. Then there are the Speedy bags, which no self-respecting collector should be without.
