Saint Laurent Opyum 110 Pumps

A short history about those stacked initials that form the iconic YSL logo we know and love today. Designed by Adolphe Mouron Cassandre (and therefore known as the YSL Cassandre) back in 1961, it featured prominently on the French luxury house’s designs for decades. Even during Stefano Pilati’s and Hedi Slimane’s respective tenures, pieces like those YSL tees, the Belle Du Jour clutch and even the iconic Vavin bags have remained memorable till this day.

For Spring-Summer 2017, current Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello has integrated the Cassandre logo’s sleek lines into the Opyum shoe silhouette, giving the shoe that extra oomph with its architecturally sublime shape. The Opyum 110 (SGD1700) in black patent leather is in fact more than just a shoe; together with its 11 cm heel you could consider it a work of art.

But for those who are looking for a more literal piece of art they can wear every day without busting their ankles, how about the Opyum Crocodile Brooch (SGD1600)? Measuring some 7 cm in height (it’s shown above with the pumps), it’s textured to look like exotic croc in 100% gold brass, a stunning piece of jewellery that would most certainly jazz up any tee or blazer.
