Because it’s been my ongoing mission to bring you the weird and the wonderful (on top of the new and the commercial), here’s something that’s definitely wonderful from Maison Margiela that you should at least have a once-over of. Known simply as the White Leather Satchel Backpack, it is exactly as the name suggests, a satchel and a backpack all at once.

Approximately 30 cm by 30 cm, carry it by its top handle and it’s a satchel. Use it via its looped sling and it is a backpack. And if you’re feeling really adventurous, undo the sling, latch it onto the top handle’s D-rings and you’ve got a sling bag that you can wear across the body or over the shoulder.

Priced at USD2570 and available now via SSENSE, this 3-in-1 gem of a bag’s most distinctive feature has got to be its oversized front flap that’s also guaranteed to turn heads. Wonderful? I wholeheartedly agree.
