You know the problem with bags these days? Innovative, new and sometimes strange. Which, to be frank, isn’t all bad, but when you’re faced with the decision of what to spend your hard-earned money on, it’s not necessarily the best thing, especially if you can only carry that beautifully-odd-yet-quirkily-fun bag for less than 6 months because it is just too much of a seasonal piece.
The solution? Look for something that’s classic and simple, much like this quilted number from Chanel’s Pre-Spring 2017 collection. Crafted out of soft lambskin leather, there’s nothing more reassuring than a beautifully-quilted piece that’s been given a minor reinterpretation of sorts. Shaped like a trapezoid with rounded sides, there’s the metal-laden top handle that’s quite vintage-chic, along with a long leather sling which can be used on the bag or completely removed if you prefer a cleaner look.
Measuring 24 cm by 14 cm, the SGD6190 leather Flap Bag isn’t exactly entry-level as far as its price is concerned, but for something you can use for years and years to come (as opposed to just 6 months) it is probably worth the money, don’t you think? Just do the math.
Available in Dark Blue as well as Black (shown above), you can check it out now at Chanel boutiques in Singapore as we move from the Cruise 2017 collection into the Pre-Spring 2017 line-up.
And for those who prefer something that’s a tad more squarish in shape, there’s also this, a 25 cm by 18.5 cm beauty in white lambskin leather (SGD6410) that’s also pretty divine. Truly.
