As the title suggests, this post is pretty straightforward. It’s still Fall-Winter 2016 as far as Chanel is concerned, but with Cruise 2017 just around the corner, I thought it would be apt to do a final post on these #BoyChanel bags before the seasons change. The first two are pretty standard, the first one an aged leather Boy Chanel with gold hardware (and trim) that goes around the inner portion of the quilted flap. Which is as iconic as it gets.
The other is pretty much the same, but in Black with added grosgrain detailing; that’s the bit where it looks tufted on the perimeter of the front flap. Both measure 20 cm by 12 cm by 7 cm (which makes it a Small), but price wise, they will differ slightly, with the first one going for SGD5870 and the second one retailing for SGD6300, which I think is due to the added detailed workmanship required to add the tufted grosgrain detailing.
The 3rd Boy Chanel is where it gets interesting. In a shape I’ve never seen before, it’s called the Boy Chanel Small Clutch and comes in at 19 cm by 10 cm by 4 cm. More a WOC-type of SLG than an actual bag, it comes with its own metal sling (pretty long too, if I might add) with 2 separate zip compartments on the front and back (think Trio, but just two zip pouches instead of 3). Best thing, besides costing just a fraction of the earlier bags (this is just SGD2070), it’s also the perfect small bag for cafe-hopping, sale-shopping and general festive multi-tasking.
And if you don’t like it Boy Chanel-style, it also comes quilted with the classic CC logo in washed calfskin or regular lambskin, and those are even better priced at just SGD1870 and SGD2190 respectively. Also, unlike the WOC, you can actually remove the sling entirely and use it as the name suggests, as a small clutch. In other words, win-win.
