Call it human nature, but the moment I realised that this 100-pair limited edition Flyknit Racer won’t be available for sale, I wanted it even more. According to Hypebeast, this Tokyo-only, 2020 Olympic Games-related special will come with an upper that has been hand-dyed with Japanese indigo. A traditional craft that has been practised in the archipelago for hundreds of years, even the tongue of this sneaker is special, with the Japanese word for Nike written onto it. Packaged with its own indigo-dyed tote bag, you can yearn for it till you’re blue in the face but it won’t be slated for release at Nike stores (or online via www.nike.com) at all.

There is some good news though. For those who want the new all-black Flyknit Racer, that gets released in Singapore tomorrow (7 September 2016) and will be available at SUTL’s Nike stores Bugis Junction, Paragon and Shaw Centre. #happyshopping
