Prada F/W16 Bibliothèque

Translated literally, bibliothèque, in French, means library or bookcase. Which is fitting for this new bag from Prada’s Fall-Winter 2016 collection named the Bibliothèque that resembles something you would loan from a library or put onto a bookcase. A book.

In a shape that’s quite distinctly Prada (you know, a squarish frame topped with a pair of short top handles), the book side of it comes from its accordion sides, folded panels of leather that really do resemble the pages from a book.

Available in at least 2 sizes, a larger 30 cm by 22.5 cm, and a smaller 26 cm by 20 cm, both sizes come with 3 main compartments (one of the compartments comes with its own flap to keep those personal bits extra safe) on the inside, various zip and patch pockets and an additional sling, which also means you can go hands-free with it if need be.

Structured, smart and a great contender as a good bag for work (the accordion sides means it can be ‘stretched’ to hold a tad more), Net-A-Porter does have the smaller ones that are priced at GBP1790 apiece in Black, Brick (a deep warm red) and Grey. Yes, in case you missed the memo, Prada is available online now via Net-A-Porter, and besides these bags you’ll find most everything else, from Galleria bags to runway pieces and even your favourite nylon pieces like backpacks. Not convinced? Have a look here, and #happyshopping.
