3 Beauty/Grooming Products You Should Know Of Now

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now, because like most other folks out there, the older you get, the younger you want to look. But because I’ll never be as qualified as those out there who review beauty and grooming products for a living, I’ll just focus on the following for now, including what’s new, what it’s supposed to do and how much it costs, along with where you can buy it, of course.

Two are skincare products (you know, for your face), and one’s for personal grooming (more specifically, and there is no polite way of saying this, your armpits). All 3 are also relatively new to the market, so here goes.

Skin Inc Pure Serum Mist
With onsen water sourced from the Izumo Yumura Hot Spring in Japan that’s been touted to have medicinal qualities and has been used for over 1300 years, it promises to work like the brand’s signature serum but in a convenient, easy-to-use mist.

What It Promises To Do: Many things apparently (so many in fact, could it be another ‘miracle water’ in the making?), from providing instant hydration to strengthening the skin’s barrier against harmful pollutants. It’s also supposed to reduce skin sensitivity, even on those with blemish-prone skin. How Much And Where: SGD98 for a 100 ml bottle, get it via Skin Inc stores or Sephora.

Chanel La Solution 10
117 formulation trials were carried out before Chanel launched La Solution 10, the first comforting moisturiser that only has 10 ingredients, with the rare and precious Silver Needle Tea forming the core of the formula. It’s also alcohol-free, fragrance-free, oil-free and dermatologist-tested.

What It Promises To Do: ‘Sensitive skin is moisturised and soothed, nurtured back to a more resilient, less reactive state’. In other words, if your skin is currently battered by everything from pollution to stress, it’s supposed to regulate against irritants and protect against free radicals. How Much And Where: SGD125 for a 30 ml bottle, get it via Chanel Fragrance And Beauty boutiques at Marina Bay Sands and ION Orchard, as well as beauty counters in departmental stores across Singapore.

Aesop Herbal Deodorant
Last but not least, a new product not meant for your face, but for your underarms. Suitable for both men and women, it comes in the form of a spray mist for easy application.

What It Promises To Do: Formulated with Zinc Ricinoleate, it address compounds associated with Coryneform bacteria, the main contributor to strong body odour. Also in the formulation is a blend of essential oils, including eucalyptus, rosemary and sage, for a finish that’s light and refreshing. How Much And Where: SGD47 for 50 ml, available at any of Aesop’s eight stores in Singapore, including the newest one at B3 ION Orchard.

I had the chance to sniff the Aesop spray before it was officially launched and it sure smells nice, just like all their products.

Call me a fan, I was told they are also quite good at eliminating odour after a spin at the hawker center.
