Burberry: Mr Burberry Fragrance Collection

Inspired by the trench coat, a piece of clothing synonymous with British luxury house Burberry comes Mr Burberry, a new fragrance created by Christopher Bailey who worked in collaboration with perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. An eau de toilette that’s described as a sensual herbal woody scent, it contains notes of crisp, zesty grapefruit, earthy vetiver and smokey guaiac wood.

Even the bottle draws inspiration from Burberry’s heritage trench coats, from the weighted bottle cap that resembles the coat’s button to a single English-woven black gabardine knot that goes around the neck of the bottle.

And because it wouldn’t be a Burberry launch without a huge campaign to front it, the commercial stars actor and musician Josh Whitehouse and model and actress Amber Anderson, directed by Oscar and Turner Prize-winning director Steve McQueen in his first commercial film debut, with the soundtrack provided by singer-songwriter Benjamin Clementine. Incidentally, they are all British, which parallels Bailey’s insistence on using only the best of British talent in whatever he does for Burberry.
