#ChanelxPedderonScotts: A Travel Q&A With Rosalyn Lee & Sheila Sim

You’ve already seen the first round of #ChanelxPedderonScotts collaborations here on the blog, with illustrations (and illustrations brought to life) by talented South Korea-based artist Jaesuk Kim. For round two, Chanel and I invited two remarkably dynamic women, one a radio DJ with Lush 99.5 FM, the other, an actress and a model, to share their travel experiences, tips and what they adore about Chanel’s #ChanelAirlines S/S16 collection that will be launched in a very special pop-up at Pedder on Scotts this Thursday (24 March 2016) at Scotts Square.

Radio DJ Rosalyn Lee (@heyrozz)
Q: What do you love most about travelling?
A: I love exploring the space outside of my comfort bubble. I enjoy the freedom of being on the go, expanding my mind and horizons by way of discovering new landscapes/culture/people, and soaking up the feeling of being alive while getting to know more about the only world we have.

Q: Tell me the last destination you went to and 3 things we should do?
A: Myanmar. See pagodas of Bagan via hot air balloon rides at the break of dawn. Eat at Rangoon Tea House in Yangon for modern Myanmar favourites in chic space. See how locals live by spending half a day exploring Yangon on the circular train.

Q: Bucket List: 3 places you haven’t been and want to go.
A: Chernobyl, a city hit by nuclear disaster. Radiation levels are low and safe now and it would make an awesome photo trip because I love the poetic beauty that disasters sometimes bring. Petra in Jordan, it’s one of the seven wonders of the world. I’ve been dying to visit since I saw it on Indiana Jones. Kerala in India, home of Ayurveda. Heard so much about how gorgeous the landscape is.

Q: Best travel tip you can share?
A: Cliched but it always pays to travel with an open mind. Don’t pack your trip with too many things to do. Allow room for chance discoveries, and spur of the moment decisions.

Q: Lastly, what do you love most about Chanel’s S/S16 collection?
A: I really dig the aviators. They hide my face well (I don’t wear make-up on planes), add a pop of colour to my mostly black wardrobe, and love that it can double up as a lens filter/photo accessory when I snap shots!

Actress/Model Sheila Sim (@sheila_sim)
Q: What do you love most about travelling?
A: It makes me appreciate what I have better. Broadens my horizon and enriches my soul.

Q: Tell me the last destination you went to and 3 things we should do?
A: Bangkok. For eats check out at Siam Paragon’s AllCoco Coconut, love the ice-cream there, as well as Thonkreung in Thonglor. For shopping, my best kept secret has got to be Union Mall – shopping paradise!

Q: Bucket List: 3 places you haven’t been and want to go.
A: Bhutan, Mongolia and New Zealand.

Q: Best travel tip you can share?
A: Mask-mask-mask! When I travel, I’ll bring along a facial mask, eye mask and surgical mask. The air is very dry up there and it’s very important to keep yourself hydrated!

Q: Lastly, what do you love most about Chanel’s S/S16 collection?
A: The fabric on the backpack is so light and the colours are fantastic! They are my favourite colours, red and blue. It’s fun, yet still ever so classy and elegant! Oh, and those sandals that light up, it’s just brilliant!
