If you’ve been following Tod’s for the last couple of seasons, you’ll realise that as far as the Italian house is concerned, they have a love for bags that are shaped curvaceously, from the bulbous yet adorable new S/S15 Bucket to the Military Bowler, a roomy, rectangular bag softened with curved edges. Which bring us to the subject of today’s post, a new S/S15 offering known as the Cape.
More Superman than that peninsula that juts out from the easternmost part of the state of Massachusetts, look closely and you’ll see how one side of the bag almost curves over the other side, much like how a superhero would wear his (or her) cape. Featuring hidden magnets that would explain how one side attaches itself to the other, it opens with ease, revealing a roomy interior that comes with a zippered pocket on each side.
Made in 3 different sizes (the Mini, Small and the Medium) that are priced at SGD1680, SGD2080 and SGD2470 respectively, the bags come in soft, semi-glossy leather, inexpensive enough to justify everyday work use in a style that’s big on both form and function, another recurring theme as far as Tod’s bags are concerned.
Now available in Tod’s Singapore boutiques in Paragon and within Takashimaya Department Store, you can head down for a look, or pop on over to their online site that features the full catalogue of Cape bags in different colours and sizes.

I like the lilac! Tod’s has improved a lot in their designs and their leathers are good! (FB)
This looks very ‘inspired’ by McQueen’s De Manta Bag.
