Longchamp S/S15 Le Pliage Nylon Personalized

longchamp_ss15-nylon-le-pliage-personlization As far as bags go these days, the only way to make anything truly your own is to personalise it, and one brand that has been championing this for the longest time has got to be Longchamp, which first introduced their Le Pliage Nylon personalisation service many years back, with the made-to-order ones for the Le Pliage Cuir collection kicking off last year.

And depending on which you prefer and of course, what you care to spend, you can choose from nylon or leather variations that come in a variety of colours and sizes. Take the Le Pliage Nylon ones, for example, for which the personalisation service kicks off on 1 March exclusively at Longchamp ION Orchard. Available in 6 different styles that include 4 bags, a clutch and an adorable coin purse, you can choose from up to 15 different colours, with the option of adding an additional strip of colour that will run the down the middle of the bag.

You’ll also have to decide on the length of the handles (the short ones would be cuter but the longer ones are more practical, right?), the colour of the hardware (nickel, like silver, bronze and gold) and right at the end of it all, figure out if you would to have it embroidered or embossed with your initials, with the option of 5 different fonts and, I’m not nearly done yet, the added option of picking the colours for your initials (or word) that can be up to a max of 5 letters.

Starting from just SGD88, the personalisation service will run for a month till 31 March 2015, with a waiting time of at least 8 weeks, since all orders are then sent back to France where they will be made one by one at the huge Longchamp facility in Segré, which I had the honour of visiting last year. Made by hand and put together by artisans in white lab coats, this is one of the rare services around that allows you to create the bag of your dreams.
