Loewe: Amazona Atelier

There are bags that come and go every season, and there are classics that come back every six months in a new hue or finishing. Which is all well and good, but after a while it just gets a tad repetitive and dare I say, even boring.

And then there are customisation services like Loewe’s Amazona Atelier, which lets you play designer and craftsman all at once, something you can now do online via Loewe, or at their spanking new flagship at Marina Bay Sands.

The process is simple really; first you pick which of the 5 skins you want your Amazona to be in, from calfskin and goatskin to exotic ostrich and two types of crocodile. And when you’re done, you move to the next step that involves picking 3 colours, for the handles, the corner patches (and the trim) and then the body. Pick the colour of your padlock (Gold, Silver or Gunmetal) and you’re ready for the next step.

You can then choose your Amazona‘s size, which for some skin options come in 3 sizes, Amazona 24HR (44 cm by 25 cm), Amazona (36 cm by 23 cm) and the Amazona28 (29 cm by 17 cm). Including your initials in the bag’s interior is next, along with a card that shows your name and the date your bag was created.

The last step? Reserve your creation and have it emailed to Loewe, where someone from the brand will contact you for a final confirmation. Or head down to the boutique at Marina Bay Sands and place an order in person. Prices are reasonable too (this is after all made to measure to your specific preferences), starting at SGD3290, SGD4090 and SGD4590 for the Amazona28, Amazona and Amazona 24HR for the one in calfskin.

Now excuse me while I go do up my Amazona 24HR, which also happens to be a good overnight bag for the guys.
