If you ever wanted to know how it would feel getting up close and personal with beautifully handcrafted haute jewellery dripping in opulence (and yes, diamonds too), here’s your chance. Kicking off this Friday till 20 July 2012 at the Montblanc flagship at Mandarin Gallery, the Montblanc Haute Joaillerie Travelling Exhibition makes a stop here in Singapore for the first time.
Amongst the different collections that will be shown during the length of exhibition, you’ll see these as well, earrings and a necklace from the Montblanc Haute Joaillerie White Nights collection, part of a 6-piece set that was inspired by Russia’s celebrated Kirov ballet.
Given my penchant for all things shiny and bling, it’s not hard to be mesmerised by such a sight, the necklace an elegant, swirling confection of diamonds numbering 27 carats in all, set on white gold, its fluidity and grace mimicking a well-choreographed ballerina pirouetting around the stage.
The piece is made complete with the addition of the Montblanc diamonds, the six-sided rounded star that’s the German house’s unmistakable signature.
The matching earrings are no less stunning, but don’t take my word for it. Head on down to their flagship from this Friday onwards and have a look yourself. Or round up a few girlfriends and make a trip down this weekend before or after high tea, because there’s nothing better than banter, scones and of course, diamonds, all at once.
