Celebs And Bags #69 – Miu Miu Madras Shoulder & Selma Blair
One of my personal favourites from Miu Miu this season has got to be the Miu Miu Madras Shoulder, a simple yet elegant bag. Measuring 22 cm by 15 cm, the goat leather bag is anchored in the front with a pretty gold-tone hardware lock clasp. And that’s it, no unnecessary ruching, no blinding bling.
Just a straightforward shoulder bag that’s also pretty hardy as far as the leather is concerned.
Until Selma Blair came along.
Spotted out and about in a white and black ensemble (with flip-flops and a hat no less), she looks less than flattering, sloppy even. Thankfully, the bag does add a pop of colour (and interest) to her otherwise monochromatic and plain outfit, which just goes to show how important having a nice bag is.
And like I’ve mentioned before, you can get away with a nice bag and a really bad outfit, but you can’t get away with a fugly bag and a really nice outfit, because it just doesn’t work that way.
Retailing for SGD2010 in Singapore, it also comes in Light Blue and White besides the one in Pink Shown above.
And before I go, here’s another variation of the Madras, a smaller (and cuter) shoulder bag with a stiff top handle. Adorable, no?
