Lanvin Golden Dream Metal Box Clutch

I know I may get some flack for saying this, but the first thing I get when I look at the Lanvin Golden Dream Metal Box Clutch is not how beautifully crafted it is, the metal clutch coated with white enamel or even how such angular clutch boxes are so in trend right now.

The first thing I see when I look at this is how the eagle on the front of the clutch looks so much like a Nazi eagle, albeit a more beautiful version embellished in Swarovski crystals. And even though I’m pretty sure it wasn’t intentional, one could also argue that it could be simply decorative, even if it only looks that way.

Launched today on Net-A-Porter for GBP2580, it has surprisingly already sold out. What do you think?

Now that you’ve mentioned the Nazi eagle thing I can’t unsee it! This clutch would be gorgeous without that unnecessary embellishment.

I can see why this thing sold out… If the clutch is called “Golden Dream”, it’s prolly referencing/influenced heavily by Native American/Navajo culture; the way the crystals and embellishments are arranged seems to affirm that.

And with every Lanvin creation, it is truly a dream; definitely well-made, and executed as close to the (cultural) influence as possible. Pretty thing.
