Ever so often I dig deep into my hat and try to pull out a ‘rabbit’ that’s less than common and more than unknown.
Today’s ‘rabbit’ happens to be from Kenzo, which the fashion-savvy amongst you will know has undergone major changes with Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, designers at Opening Ceremony, taking over the creative helm in the company that’s owned by LVMH.
But enough dithering. The ‘rabbit’ in question is the Kenzo Bucket Bag, a curiously deconstructed variation of the house’s signature bag, the Padogon. From the Spring-Summer 2012 Womens Kenzo collection, the creative duo cleverly decided to make it colourful and lightweight, ditching most of the leather and sticking to PVC and viscose, which cleverly also makes it incredibly affordable as well.
Priced at SGD830 (I did say it was affordable), this bag (actually a bucket cum backpack that’s very roomy) is fun and attractive, and something which will definitely turn heads. And because there is only one Kenzo store in Singapore (you’ll find it within Takashimaya Departmental Store on Level 2), you can be rest assured that it will be very unlikely you’ll bump into someone carrying the same bag on any given day.
Eclectic, functional, affordable and as good as a one-of-a-kind. What more could you ask for? Check it out (along with a couple more in different colour combinations) at the store, where it should be available in the coming week.
