First, a short history lesson. Designed by Aldo Cipullo for Cartier in the 1970s, the Cartier Juste un Clou collection was released after the now famous Love bracelet was introduced in 1969, incidentally also created by Aldo Cipullo. Which explains the references to hardware. The Love bracelet is famous for its screw detail, the Just un Clou draws its design from the humble nail.
To be available in Singapore from May 2012, the Just un Clou collection (which translated means ‘just a nail’) will consist of bracelets (shown above) and rings, in pink, yellow or white gold, with or without diamonds.
What’s interesting is the fact that the bracelets will come in different thicknesses. For example, the one in rose gold with diamonds (shown above) is classified as a small, while the yellow one would be known as the large. This also pretty much means the guys can get in on the action as well, opting for the thicker variations, while ladies can be content with their slim dainty ones.
No word yet on the retail prices for this collection, which also includes these gorgeous rings (shown above), but I’ve got a feeling they shouldn’t be too far off from the prices for those in the Love collection.
Stay tuned for more updates, and let the obsessing begin. Because I am.
